Becoming
As each has received a gift, employ it for one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10
The priest at mass on Sunday asked us, “What are you going to do with your life?” I reflected on this question, and the answer I kept reaching was that with my life I wish to love, love, and love. It sounds cliche and we hear it all the time from others, but how many of us actually commit to living out that life of love we oh so desire for ourselves and others? God knows it isn’t easy since it is a 24/7, full-time job, but He promises that whoever remains in Him and His love will bear much fruit. Believe in the promise!
When we think about it, the state of our hearts and those of our brothers and sisters depend not just on our dreams, but on our life choices! God has given each and every one of us a set of skills and talents to manifest Christ’s love in this world. What are yours?
As we enter Lent, let us not just hope for love, but with our special gifts, decide to love every single hour of every single day of our lives. The rewards will be incomparable to any joy we have felt before!
