Imbrication

Suffering, pain, sorrow, humilitation, feelings of loneliness, are nothing but the kiss of Jesus, a sign that you have come so close that He can kiss you. Mother Teresa

Because suffering is present in this world, many people don’t believe in a higher power, i.e. “If God exists, why do bad things happen?” However, those who genuinely believe in Jesus have a sense of purpose rather than despair in their suffering. What is the purpose of suffering? The purpose of suffering is to share in the passion of Christ as He suffered on the cross for us. Suffering is a gift and a sign of true love.

We can’t avoid suffering, but God teaches us to have no fear. Let us offer up our own personal sufferings as prayers for peace, hope, and love!
